Song 1: Hootie and The Blowfish – Let Her Cry

I’ll be honest when Hootie hit the air waves  around 1994 I wasn’t sure what I thought about them, but over time they really grew on me. This was a time I look back on and I really wished I was more present In the music of the 90’s. Thankfully the music is still available and I can enjoy and remember.

Favorite Lyric: I wanted to look for you, You walked in, I didn’t know just what I should do

Song 2: Ricky Warwick -When Life Was Hard and Fast

I first heard Ricky Warwick when he was the opening act for Def Leppard on the X tour. He did his set just him and his guitar. I remember thinking I liked his voice and his songs were catchy. Fast forward to now I still buy anything he puts out. He has a great sound and he’s never disappointed. If you listen to the chorus you will hear a very cool back up singer, you’d have to be def not to hear it.

Favorite Lyric: I’m gonna make this extreme sing, in a traveling circus show

Song 3: Girl Named Tom -Country Road

I was looking for some new music a few weeks ago. My only stipulations were that  it had to have a girl singer and it be somewhat acoustic. That’s when I found Girl Named Tom and their cover of Country Road. I love this version and I’ve even looked over the fact they were on the Voice. I will defiantly try to see them live if given the chance. I love the sudden inclusion of Mr. Robinson.

Favorite Lyric: Come on it’s Country Road.

Song 4: John Anderson -Swingin’

For as long a I can remember this song has always brought me joy. John’s voice one of a kinda nd before the song ends you will find yourself sining along.

Favorite Lyric:Her brother was on the sofa, Eatin’ chocolate pie
Her Mama was in the kitchen, Cuttin’ chicken up to fry

Song 5: Bob Seger – Old Time Rock n Roll

There is no better song to listen to when driving on a pretty day than this song. I remember  saying that this was my all favorite song because it was in my opinion perfect. My fondest emery was going to the bowling ally as a kid and playing it on the juke box. Good times!

Favorite Lyrics: Don’t try and take me to a Disco!

Well there you have it! Have a good weekend!

  1. Another amazing list of songs. I too saw Ricky Warwick on the X Tour but always forgot his name. I decided to do some listening and really dig his style!

Hootie and the Blowfish was my first CD. I dug the music, but it was the music videos that really caught my eye.
