Crimson Cage

Last year, I discovered a new comic book company called AWA Studios. One of their major projects was spearheaded by one of my favorite writers, J. Michael Straczysnki which peaked my interested. I found myself attracted to several of their other series thanks to the odd and quirky stories. There are 80’s car books, murder mysteries, superheroes, and a huge shared universe. It’s actually pretty impressive for a new company.

One of the books I heard about a few months ago was called Crimson Cage. This one really got my attention because it was a pro wrestling comic that is an interpretation of Macbeth. I don’t know if I’ve ever heard of a cooler concept in comics.

The first issue came out recently and I enjoyed the heck out of it. The artwork is good, the 80’s vibe is solid, and it’s abundantly clear the creators are huge wrestling fans.

I can’t wait to see where the story goes and I highly recommend any wrestling fans check it out.
